Angelo began his career in the family business, Ristorante Italia 1979-1997, at the early age of 16 where he quickly mastered the fine art of managing a restaurant. At a young age, Angelo started developing his skills as a gelato maker, assisting in the evolution of gelato in the United States. He continues to be passionate about gelato to this day, making each batch from scratch and keeping a rotational assortment of varieties available.

While attending Prodotti Stella Corsi di Gelateria in Vecenza, Italy, Angelo was able to perfect his craft of making amazing and delicious gelatos. In 2008, Angelo created a partnership with Robert Mariano, President and CEO of Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc, in the development and operation of Vero Coffee & Gelato. To date, Angelo has successfully opened 44 Vero Coffee & Gelato locations within Mariano’s, Metro Markets and Copps grocery stores.

Angelo finished in second place at the Gelato World Tour, which took place in Chicago in May 2016. Lollino's flavor, Chicago Pot Hole, was made in association with Massa Café Italiano and his co-partnership with Mariano's Vero Coffee & Gelato. The second place ranking qualified Lollino to compete in the grand finale held in Rimini, Italy in September 2017. The winner will be awarded the title of "World's Best Gelato."
