Showcasing Local Artists
Chicago has always had a vibrant art scene. Over the years, Mariano’s has shared a stunning collection of works in various mediums from local artists, each creating a unique experience for our customers. Among them have been:
- Dorian Sylvain, Sylvain Studios and Mural Moves. Using their amazing talents, artist Dorian Sylvain and her team have brought Mariano’s and the communities we serve closer together through art and history. Their “Color Me South Side” mural let us honor Bronzeville’s cultural legacy. Plus, Dorian and her team have helped many families keep their children entertained while exploring their creativity through various in-store and online kids’ activities.
- Tony Smith, Photographer. With his artistic eye behind the camera, Tony’s images have been seen on display at our Mariano’s Bronzeville store. His “Black Is Beautiful” exhibit, curated by Dorian Sylvain, featured of some of Chicago’s most vibrant cultural leaders.
- Live! At Mariano’s. Since our grand opening in 2010, we’ve never missed a beat in supporting local musicians. From jazz and blues to dueling pianos and streaming performances curated by Lee Farmer, we’ll keep bringing the Chicago-style music you love. Visit us at www.facebook.com/marianosmarket to see our upcoming list of musical artists, many sponsored by the Illinois Lottery, performing on Friday nights as part of Live! At Mariano’s online.
