Itâ€™s hard to find good barbeque, even in a town thatâ€™s known for its pig roasting prowess. We made it easy by bringing in a fella whose taken BBQ to a whole new level with his own creation of tangy, spicy and sweet sauces.
When you grow up in the backwoods of Illinois, you can count on two things: a longing to escape and a taste for BBQ. Since he was old enough to hold a basting brush, Todd helped his Dad and Grandpa smoke the pork and beef they raised themselves. Todd eventually got out of the backwoods. But his departure was unceremonious. A note pinned to one of the familyâ€™s seven grills stated simply, â€œStepped out to get sauce.â€
After crisscrossing the country, he brought three powerful tastes back to Illinoisâ€” not the backwoods, but this time Marianoâ€™s.
