Rated

Ingredients

2 whole mcintosh apples
1-1/2 lbs ground beef
1 tsp onion salt
1 pinch white pepper
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 whole large egg
1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 - 3 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup hot water
2 whole chicken bouillon cubes
2 tbsp raisins
¼ teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon water
1-1/2 tsp cornstarch

Preparation

Peel, core and quarter the apples then chop into small pieces. Place the chopped apples in a large mixing bowl and add the ground beef, onion salt, white pepper, cloves, egg, and bread crumbs. Mix the ingredients together well and shape into small balls. Roll the balls in the flour to coat them. Set the meatballs aside.

Add the meatballs to the heated oil and brown. Remove them from the pan and allow them to cool. Add the hot water to the pan, the bouillon cubes, raisins and lemon juice. Mix together well and add meatballs. In a separate bowl blend cold water and cornstarch until smooth. Add to the meatball mixture in the frying pan and mix in. Cook for a minute or so longer until the sauce thickens. For a complete meal serve with brown rice and zucchini squash.
